Back to the Commons. Today, 10 amendments to the Rwanda Bill had come back from the Lords and we rejected them all. The voting started at 2000 and finished just before 2200. What the Lords would do next with the Bill was anyone's guess.

Back to the Commons for what looks like a busy week. Today was spent catching up on constituency matters and correspondence. I also spent some time drafting a speech for tomorrow's Budget debate. I estimated I'd only have about five minutes to speak, so worked on that basis.
As we mourn the tragic loss of life in Israel and Gaza, the Prime Minister reminded us last week of the need to fight extremism and heal divisions, so I start today by remembering the Muslims who died in two world wars in the service of freedom and democracy.
